To find out what we Swedish travelers want a detox vacation to include, or rather not include, the online travel agency Travellink conducted a survey.
A total of 1,000 people were surveyed and it turned out that many dream of a detox holiday. But what they want to detox from varied. Most wanted to take a detox from work, or from social media. Others wanted to do a more physical and health-promoting detox. What stood out, however, was that nearly one in five Swedes wanted a detox from their partner, family or friends.
Around half of those surveyed chose a sun and beach holiday for their detox holiday. Around 20 percent preferred a holiday in nature. The biggest reason for going on a detox holiday is to de-stress and recharge (37%), the survey shows. This is followed by wanting to have a fresh start (26%) or to learn a healthier lifestyle (16%). 12 percent would like to detox to find inner balance.
When it comes to differences in how men and women choose detox vacations, it turned out that women have a greater focus on health. Men, on the other hand, prefer to travel to a larger city.
