SJ will open Norway's first train lounge at Oslo Central Station in early 2027. The investment comes at a time when train travel between Stockholm and Oslo is increasing sharply - during the summer of 2026, travel increased by 25 percent.

The new lounge will be located on the second floor of Oslo Central Station and will be the first train lounge in Norway. SJ already has similar lounges at several stations in Sweden.

The investment is part of the company's focus on traffic between Stockholm and Oslo, where demand has increased. During the summer, 25 percent more people traveled by train between the capitals compared to the same period last year.
– SJ Lounge at Oslo S is an example of how we strengthen our offering to our passengers and bring the best of SJ to more people, says SJ President and CEO Jonas Abrahamsson.
Aimed at business travelers, among others
The lounge will be available to travelers between Stockholm and Oslo with a first class ticket as well as Premium level members of SJ Prio.
Norwegian travelers with a Premium Plus or SJ Sove ticket also have access. The lounge can be used both before and after the train journey.
SJ Norway specifically identifies business travel between the two capitals as a target group for the initiative.
– This is an important step in the work to enhance the customer experience and make trains the natural choice for more people, especially for business travelers between Oslo and Stockholm, says Rikke Lind, CEO of SJ Norway.
Breakfast and shower for night train travelers
For travelers arriving in Oslo by night train, the lounge will offer breakfast, coffee and showers. During the rest of the day, lighter food and drinks will be offered.
There will also be separate workplaces and staff who can, among other things, help travelers with bookings and rebookings.
SJ Lounge at Oslo Central Station will open in early 2027.
