FACEBOOK – A ZOMBIE PLATFORM?

Jason Koebler, one of the founders of the tech site 404 Media, believes that Facebook has transformed into an obscure holding space where humans and bots interact without knowing who is who. According to Koebler, AI spam has taken over the platform, with 30 percent of posts now recommended by Facebook's AI algorithm. These posts are often bizarre, AI-generated images such as ”Shrimp Jesus” and celebrities with amputated limbs. Many users interact with this content, often without realising it is AI-created. Koebler has spent months studying the phenomenon, creating fake accounts and contacting hundreds of people who commented on AI posts to understand the scale of it.
