ChatGPT as a Divorce Advisor

Remove

When the influencer Alexandra Bylund hit a life crisis, she didn't turn to a psychologist or a friend – but to ChatGPT. She inputted a text conversation with her husband and asked the AI for an honest interpretation. The answer was so direct and unforgiving that she decided to proceed with a divorce, she recounts in a social media post. The reactions were not long in coming: several followers wrote that they too use the chatbot for guidance in life, calling it their best friend.

Psychologist Maria Farm describes the trend as understandable but risky. An AI can never take responsibility for the advice it gives; and it cannot replace a human therapist, she believes.
