Alcohol-free beer has become a popular drink choice on the theme. Now the celebrity concept is being added here too and GW's Nyktra pilsner is the bottle with Leif GW Persson's face that will make Kosta Bryggeri's new beer sell.
The beer itself is a non-alcoholic lager brewed at the Småland brewery Kosta Bryggeri, which started operations in 2022. The brewery produces nearly 50,000 liters of beer per year of various types, the business is run under the management of Torsten Jansson and his New Wave Group, which also includes the glassworks Kosta Boda and Orrefors.
included. Torsten Jansson contacted Pontus Frithiof and told us about the brewery. A conversation that led to an idea to produce his own beer, together with GW. We have now been invited to Pontus' restaurant La Tour, 23 floors up in the DN-scrap to hear what the gentlemen have to say, try the beer and look out over a hazy Stockholm. Own drinks are something that has become something of a signature for GW and his wines, currently six in number: a white, a red, a sparkling, a Riesling, a red box and a white box. Are the famous wines that sell the best at Systembolaget.
– I sell the most wine of all when it comes to celebrity wines, but then I'm more famous than everyone else combined, says GW when he speaks up at the bar. But it's not wine we're going to talk about now, but beer, and in this case one with a low alcohol content. As a professor of criminology, he notes that the low alcohol content is extra good from several aspects.
– I have done research in the area and would never dream of launching any kind of hard liquor. But I think it will be difficult to find any connection between crime and my new pilsner, he says and takes a sip. To find out how the beer should taste, it has been brewed, tasted and evaluated. And
The trio are satisfied with their collaboration: "It feels very nice to have achieved such a close and good collaboration with Leifo and Pontus. Our ambition is to become a profitable brewery and a new attraction for the Kosta destination, which will attract more visitors to the place," says Torsten Janson, CEO of New Wave Group.
GW's Nyktra Pilsner was recently launched in grocery stores and another beer will be launched in the spring, then in the stronger category. I get a refill in my glass and am served three delicious sandwiches. Yum, and then back to the office.

GW's Nyktra Pilsner, 20 SEK/33 ml, can be found in the grocery store.
