Our diving expert Ann Fogelberg here shares tips on four pink favourites.

Italian sparkling wine
At the foot of the Dolomites, where winds sweep across terraces and valleys, the climate is optimal for producing the highest quality sparkling wine – metodo classico. The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes have been hand-picked from the best vineyard sites on the hills around Trentino. The vineyards are managed with minimal environmental impact. The name Rotari comes from the historical legend of the brave Lombard king Rotari. It is perfect as an aperitif, as well as with fish, seafood, salads, and chicken dishes.

Chilli flavoured crisps
Longavi is a project that started in 2012 by two friends, Julio Bouchon from Chile and David Nieuwoudt from South Africa. Julio is a descendant of a French wine pioneer who arrived in Chile in 1887, and David is the owner of Cederberg (one of the most prestigious wine producers in South Africa). The wine comes from a beautiful area in Huerta de Maule, a colonial town that has witnessed the history of Chilean viticulture. It is suitable as an aperitif, as well as with dishes of fish, chicken, and spring salads.

In 1896, after touring France, Marcel Ott from Alsace finally found an estate that inspired him. The estate today comprises three properties: Château de Selle and Clos Mireille in Côtes de Provence, and Château Romassan in Bandol. Domaine Ott's estates are today managed by cousins Christian and Jean-François Ott, with the wines produced in collaboration with the winemaking team from the Champagne house Louis Roederer. It pairs well as an aperitif, with fish, veal, and chicken dishes, or with hearty salads.

The Rhône Valley is probably most famous for its red and white wines, but Tavel is a classic region where rosé is made. It has been an AOC (appellation d’origine contrôlée) since 1936. The wine is top-ranked and was launched in Systembolaget in 2011, and has won awards and been named ”Wine of the Year” on several occasions, as well as best rosé wine of the year. It pairs well with grilled fish dishes, hearty and flavourful salads, or light meat dishes such as veal and chicken.
