TREND: COMPETITION IN DOING NOTHING

Remove

Our constantly connected existence is now being challenged by a new trend: Raw dogging — a competition in doing the bare minimum – for example, during air travel. And the longer the flight, the better. It's simply about travelling without reading a book or newspaper, without listening to music or watching a film; in short, you're meant to strip away all distractions, just be, and let your brain rest. Filmmaker Ruben Östlund has hopped onto the trend. His upcoming film ”The Entertainment System Is Down” is about a long-haul flight between London and Sydney entirely without entertainment. Raw dogging has now also spread to activities other than flying: To rawdog a walk, for example, means you're not allowed to bring your phone with you on the walk.
