For the second time, Kalmar Castle has been honored to be included in CNN's list of the world's 21 most beautiful castles. Along with iconic buildings such as Neuschwanstein in Germany and Bodiam in England, the 800-year-old castle is highlighted as a must-see. This year's update to the list also includes a mention of the current exhibition Egyptian Mummies – A Journey to Immortality, which sheds additional light on the castle's diverse cultural offerings.
