This year's Christmas stamps have the theme Christmas Madness and are a warm tribute to the smells, traditions and anticipation of Christmas. The illustrations were created by Amanda Berglund, who describes the assignment as a childhood dream. The motifs show gingerbread baking, Christmas crafts and lit candles, painted by hand in gouache.
– When I was little, the choice was between becoming an artist or a postman – now it feels like the circle is closing, she says. The deadline to post your Christmas card this year is December 16. The price for a Christmas postage is 17 SEK, which is 5 SEK cheaper than regular postage.
