Teatern
Teatern is currently one of my favourite places for lunch. Essentially it is an upmarket food court but with numerous Michelin Star chefs each having their own stands to showcase their favourite street food. Well worth the short journey out of the city centre.
Brandstationen
This boutique is a treasure trove of modern second hand furniture and design, from the now common Eames chairs to massive industrial chandeliers, there is so much to take in and ever changing. If you end up buying something too big for your luggage, see your hotel Concierge to help send it back!
Skogskyrkogården
The Woodland Cemetery is one of my favourite places to walk to with my family. The combination of Gunnar Asplund’s modernist architecture juxtaposed with the peaceful serenity of the cemetery is a true high point, especially on a summer’s day.
Rökeriet
Rökeriet, on the island of Fjäderholmarna, is my go to place for lunch on a summer’s day with friends and family. Sitting on the deck overlooking the water, enjoying smoked prawns and a cold beer- nothing better! Fjäderholmarna is a 30 minute boat ride from the city centre and the boats go very regularly.
Designtorget
If the Board members of Designtorget like something they will stock it in their boutiques so long as it comes from a Scandinavian based designer. It is a great place to pick up an interesting souvenir.
Fotografiska
Fotografiska, The Museum of Photography, is my favourite museum in the summer with its late closing (11pm!) award winning restaurant and fantastically curated exhibitions. They also host DJ nights with last year’s highlight being Norman Jay.
